SM Group claims a world first with the GR100 AM/FM broadcast receiver from Australia' s GME Electrophone.
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the compact receiver offers 12 watts of audio power and the choice of AM and FM radio, plus the ability to monitor 55 marine VHF channels - subject, of course, to UK Marine VHF Radio Operators' licence. The unit also boasts Short Wave, Long Wave and US NOAA weather channels.
Housed in an IP55 waterproof casing, SM says the GR100 features a front mounted speaker, with external stereo speakers available from GME as an option.
The unit has a large, easy to read backlit display and front panel control buttons with adjustable backlighting give simple day or night operation.
Both gimbal or in-dash installation kits are available.
Power requirements are 12vDC and the GR100 measures 164mm wide c 65mm high x 58mm deep.
The retail price is around £116, including VAT.
