Staffan Jufors is to leave his post as CEO of Volvo Penta at the end of October when he moves to take up the position of president of Volvo Trucks on November 1.

The current president of Volvo Trucks, Jorma Halonen, will assume the position of executive vice president and deputy CEO of the Volvo Group. He will work parallel with Lennart Jeansson - who currently holds this position - until the middle of 2005, when Jeansson retires.

The company says Jufors' successor at VP has not yet been appointed. When BB quizzed Mats Edenborg, VP head of corporate communications on whether the post would go to Goran Gummeson, current managing director of VP, he told us: "I prefer not to speculate about possible candidates for the CEO position, but I think you can expect an announcement about this well ahead November 1, when Staffan is leaving Volvo Penta."

"Assigning Staffan Jufors to succeed Jorma Halonen and take over the Volvo Group's largest business area was an easy choice, " said Volvo CEO Leif Johansson. "Under Staffan's excellent leadership, Volvo Penta has developed into the most profitable and expansive company within the Volvo Group as well as within the industry."
