AWARD: Whale received a Segeln Award at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in the reader nominated Electronics and Electrical category for its Whale Bilge IC bilge water management system.

The prewired system has integrated intelligent control sensor technology that enables communication between the pump and accessory and instead of four separate components, the Bilge IC is one complete system.

Bilge IC was launched in 2010 as part of a range of products to break the mould in the marine industry. This range enabled boatbuilders and end users to install one completely prewired kit into a vessel rather than individual components.

Whale worked with numerous boatbuilders to perfect the long pump life and design, always keeping the boater in mind for simple installation and an all round better boating experience.

In 2010, the IC range of products was recognised at the DAME awards at METS and Gulley IC also took the IBEX award.

“This is another great achievement by our full in house engineering team,” said business development manager Keith Nixon. “We are appreciative of the recognition of our product innovation by those in our industry.”
