Williams Performance Tenders was another company from the UK’s leisure marine industry to win a Queen’s Award last week, with theirs being for enterprise.

AWARD: Williams Performance Tenders last week won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 in the International Trade category. The announcement was made on April 21.

This is the first time the company has received the prestigious award, which honours outstanding UK companies. Accomplishments considered by the judging panel when bestowing this accolade on Williams include growing its export sales over the last three years and increased overseas distribution.

The award winning company is owned by local brothers Mathew and John Hornsby and Roy Parker and has experienced astounding success. The entrepreneurs founded the company in 2004 and today Williams is recognised as the world’s leading jet tender specialist, with its performance tenders being demanded by boat owners throughout the world.

‘To win this universally recognised award is testament to our entire team and we are absolutely delighted that their continued hard work has been recognised,’ said joint MD Mathew Hornsby. ‘This is a huge milestone for us and we are very proud to have been awarded this accolade.’

The winning of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 comes as the company celebrates its 6th year in business.
