Wireless MOB engine kill system
Some people say that a kill cord can restrict the movement of the driver (especially if they are coaching and instructing), so Holt is to distribute a wireless safety system that stops the engine should the helmsman fall into the water.
One of the units is a small device the size of a small mobile phone that fits into the helmsman's pocket or around his or her neck, while the other is a small box that is connected to the engine. If the communication link is broken, the engine cuts.
After the engine is cut it can be started five seconds after without the units regaining communication contact.
The helmsman can also use his personal unit to shut off the engine remotely - this can be used if the vessel runs aground or if there is no time to reach the controls.
Another good point about the MOBWATCHER is it enables freedom of movement around the boat to fend off, prepare to make fast, fish or fetch something onboard - all without compromising safety, which will help people coaching and instructing from RIBs and also solo drivers that would like to move freely around the craft.
