RECALL: Crewsaver has identified a potential safety issue with a small number of its Yak Throw Lines sold between May 2009 and September 2009.

The safety issue is caused by the joining of rope used within the line, says Crewsaver. This means when weight is applied to the line, it may separate. The line should NOT have any joins in it.

Crewsaver says nothing matters more to than the safety of its customers, so if you have bought this item please inspect the rope, they say.

Customers should feed the throw line through their hands slowly looking for a join, which can be easily felt as a rough bur.

Crewsaver says if a Yak Throw Line owner is unsure, or requires more information, they should contact the Crewsaver Yak Customer Service team on 023 9252 8621, Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.00.

What to do on finding a fault
Crewsaver says stop using it, and return it to YAK Paddling, Mumby Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1QA. The company says it will, of course, replace the Throw Line and cover the cost of return.
