To organise/manage a growing team of skilled/semi skilled tradesmen/women in a fast paced workshop environment. Assignment and development of an existing job sheet system to increase efficiency of schedule works to keep the build on deadline. Once assigned, ensure completion of job sheet tasks correctly and to a set standard within allocated time frames


Strong people manager - to get the best quality & quantity of work from the team

Mechanically minded problem solver - able to get essential machinery back up and running.

Experienced 'on the tools' background - to be able to carry out the work tasks as well as anyone on the shop floor if needs be.

Able to organise and make ongoing efficiencies in production

Responsibilities of the job include

Insuring quality and volume of work completed on a daily basis

Developing, planning and organising production schedules and work sheets
Assessing project resource requirements
Estimating timescales with managers
Developing and implementing quality control systems
Overseeing production processes with managers
Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
Organising relevant training sessions

Trade related manual skills and experience is essential

Required Experience

Hands on experience in production activities in marine or similar industries. Experience with GRP preferable

Leading a team beyond their individual capabilities

Company Profile

Marina Boats Ltd is a rapidly growing boat building company with a full order book looking for the right candidate to take our production to the next level.

We have new premises that need to be fully utilised through the design & implementation of systems to increase production and decrease build times in all areas of the build from the composite outer hull & structure to the complete fit out.

We're looking for an individual able to draw on the production experience of the founding management team to relieve the day-day workshop overseeing allowing them to progress processes and business as a whole.

This is not a role for someone that could not complete the work themselves.


  • GRP: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Engineering: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Team leader/manager: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Fitting: 1 year (Preferred)
