New clothing range from August Race
Devon based August Race continued to expand during 2018, diversifying from its marine maintenance and detailing range to venture into clothing.
The products were test launched at theyachtmarket.com Southampton Boat Show with many items such as the slim-line puffas selling out.
“We design and make our own August Race deck bags in Devon which come stocked with our maintenance products which are always really popular,” said CEO Sarah Wallbank.
“We were regularly asked if we would expand upon that product with more textiles, so we responded to that demand and developed our capsule range of shore clothing.”
The additional product line chimes with Sarah’s previous training and experience working in fashion.
“I’ve enjoyed the challenges it’s brought,” she said. “It’s been great to tap into a skill-set from earlier in my career and it’s really invigorated us all seeing the pieces as they come together with input and suggestions from the whole team.”
The capsule range comprises pieces such as parka jackets, hoodies, snoods and accessories with detailing from Devon based artists.
