Good looking decks are admired
“Spending time cleaning and protecting a boat prior to laying up makes the start of the next season much more enjoyable with people admiring well preserved and good-looking decks,” says C-Quip MD Ian Cooke.
C-Quip supplies UK manufactured Sleek Ecopower plant-based products which include concentrated boat wash, upholstery cleaner and conditioner, bilge cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner and lubricant.
Sleek concentrated boat wash is safe to use on fiberglass, vinyl, plastic, rubber, glass, metal and painted areas. It will not strip existing wax or polish finishes, but gently and effectively removes grime, salt and marine build up, leaving a glossy clean finish.
To prevent teak decks going grey over winter due to mildew or other growth, C-Quip recommends using SEMCO Teak Sealer.
This solvent based teak finish with water-like viscosity contains pigments, mildewcide, UV inhibitors and moisture protection.
It does not contain silicone, varnish, polymers or exotic oils and is available in three shades; Natural, Goldtone and Honeytone. It is sold in US quarts or gallons and one quart will cover approximately 10sqm of deck.
“When Semco Teak Sealer is applied the wood will look as if it has nothing on it but it won’t turn grey or support the growth of mildew,” added Ian. “Seasonal recoating will ensure the teak looks great and is preserved in its natural state for many years.”
