A-Plan Insurance expands its products
A-Plan Insurance has a dedicated team of marine brokers that finds the best policy for clients and then navigates the best pricing structure.
The company has expanded the products on offer to include protection against cyber and terrorism risks in addition to the management liability, cargo, personal accident, engineering and cargo polices already available.
“There has been an increase in hacking of websites this year that is affecting UK businesses,” said Malcolm Stewart, A-Plan marine trade manager.
“We’re seeing a big take up of cyber insurance from clients that have an online presence, whether it’s an app or online sales.
“If the cyber hacks get into a company’s database, they can cause a lot of damage, for instance by emailing customers.”
And he explained that crew related policies including cover for personal expenses, travel cover, medical expenses and repatriation cover are also in increasing demand.
“These policies compliment our bread and butter,” said Malcolm. “Our core business is commercial marine and we’re able to provide additional value by adding other services.
“We have a good relationship with insurers and are able to get better policy wording.”
