New Torqeedo products at Düsseldorf
Torqeedo is showing its latest range of electric boating products at Düsseldorf Boat Show.
Also on show are a number of Torqeedo-powered boats including the new Greenline 39 E-drive, the X Shore electric yacht tender and the RS21 by RS Sailing.
The company's new 100kW motors are part of its Deep Blue and Deep Blue Hybrid drive systems. The motors are twice as powerful as previously and are available in two versions - low-rpm for displacement boats and high-rpm for planing boats.
Higher capacity batteries
Torqeedo is also showing an upgraded, higher-capacity battery, the new Deep Blue 40kWh battery with technology by BMW i. The battery features 30% extra capacity than its predecessor in the same footprint with an energy density of 144Wh per kg.
A 30% increase in capacity also extends to Torqeedo’s 24V Power batteries which have an energy density of 138Wh per kg in 2019. The new version weighs 800g more than the prior model with the same footprint.
This year will see the launch of the Travel 1103 C, a new direct-drive, 1,100W addition to the Travel series of emission-free outboards suitable for boats up to 1,500kg. Also new for 2019 is the Ultralight 403 A, an outboard that enables hands-free kayak fishing.
