Torqeedo’s Deep Blue inboard motor will make its UK debut at the London Boat Show.

The high-power propulsion system offers a 40 or 80 HP peak output and comprises a motor, BMW i3 battery, cooling pump, charger, new remote throttle and onboard computer with 5.7-inch touchscreen display.

Variations of Torqeedo’s new throttle include a side-mount sail for sailboats, which is designed so that there is no gap between the throttle lever and cockpit to prevent fouling by ropes. It incorporates a neutral lock for safe operation.

The company also offers a top-mount single. This is a drive-by-wire throttle for surface mounting with an ergonomically optimised, extra-wide handle, integrated power trim and tilt function. An integrated display is also in the base. Its top-mount twin has the same features, is specifically designed for twin motors and ideal for surface mounting.

A new information system for smaller motors will additionally be at the show. It provides informative and functional data about motor performance and range.

Outboard motors on display will include the 2012 Deep Blue series, 2016 Cruise Fixed Pod motors and the Travel 1003 series, now available in a higher capacity battery option.
