A Dorset-based marine communications company will be showing its racing headsets at this year’s METSTRADE.

Big Blue Yacht Communications is a new company supplying audio communications technology to the superyacht market, specialising in headsets for professional yacht racers, wired and wireless intercom systems for crew and ship-to-shore communications, and long range loudspeakers for all over-water communications.

METSTRADE debut

The communication solution choice for SailGP, Big Blue Yacht Communications’ custom professional sailing headset, ‘Frank’, clips directly into the helmet and pairs with the company’s intercom system. Whilst working with SailGP, the company discovered there was a need for reliable headsets for race chase boats and other every day yacht racers. In response Big Blue developed ‘Bob’ which will make its debut at METSTRADE.

Bob fits over the ear and behind the head to allow the user to also wear sunglasses, hats, and other sailing accessories. The Racewear headset also has an IP68 microphone and is built to withstand marine conditions. It features a custom microphone fluffy to filter out wind and ambient noise, programming to optimise speech ineligibility and a design to withstand salt water.

Big Blue Yacht Communications will be in the SuperYacht Pavillion on stand 09.402.
