Modern boat building inspires Click
Wilks is to introduce its Click modular fendering system at METSTRADE 2018.
The new modular fendering system has been developed with modern boat building in mind, designed to deliver a clean, minimalist and streamlined look.
“Click provides exceptional design without compromise,” said Wilks joint MD Chris Berry.
“Not only does Click have a screw-free appearance it can also be fitted without the need for pre-bending,”
And he explained that Click consists of three parts: track, body and stainless steel with ease of installation at the heart of the product’s development.
No front fastenings are required.
In addition, Wilks has expanded its BUMP! fendering range with the addition of a traditional wood effect finish.
The new colour option adds to the existing black and white versions.
The system comprises two parts: a non-marking body and PVC track and like the Click system requires no front fastenings.
It can handle curves and an 80mm radius without the need to mitre either the track or body.
“Developed with traditional boating materials firmly in mind, the traditional colour option provides a stunningly convincing woodgrain effect,” explained Chris.
“The benefits of using a PVC alternative to wooden rubbing strakes are enormous, you have the ease of installation, low maintenance and importantly the superior performance. I am delighted to see these qualities combined with the easy to fit BUMP! system.”
BUMP! is available in two stock sizes: 53mm and 65mm, accompanying track and stainless-steel end caps are also available.
Available in a factory finish, the woodgrain finish is revealed through hand sanding with a 40-grit sandpaper with no further upkeep or maintenance required.
