Best of maritime on show at Seawork

Europe's largest commercial marine exhibition, Seawork International, opens its doors in Southampton's Mayflower Park on Tuesday June 11.
The exhibition will be opened at 10am by Nusrat Ghani, minister responsible for Maritime, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Maritime Security, Skills and Apprenticeships. Ms Ghani is actively involved in planning the future of the British maritime sector and will address the hundreds of commercial marine businesses exhibiting at Seawork.
Now in its 22nd year and adding more than £5m to the south coast's economy, Seawork is organised by Mercator Media with Maritime Journal and Boating Business media partners.
First hybrid pilot boat
On show will be the launch of the UK’s first hybrid pilot boat, designed and built in Britain.
Seawork also features co-located events, the Marine and Coastal Civil Engineering Expo and Coastlink Conference, alongside seminars considering the future of Europe’s maritime sector, including hybrid vessels and unmanned surface vehicles.
The event has partnered with the Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, banning all single use plastics on-site, such as plastic straws and bottles, providing alternative water stations, offering on-site recycling bins and ensuring Seawork carrier bags are made from 100% recyclable materials.
Seawork runs until June 13.
