Houdini to launch ‘Frameless Illusion’ window system at Seawork
Houdini Marine Windows will launch its ‘Frameless Illusion’ window system to the UK at Seawork this year.
The modern direct glazed effect clamp section window offers the aesthetic benefits of screen printed direct bonded glass, but has the time and money saving element of fitting a window in minutes, explained Houdini's sales manager Stuart Curtis.
“The glass is delivered to customers already bonded to the aluminium frame and negates the issues of creating a recess then ‘gluing’ with expensive adhesives onto the superstructure,” said Stuart.
Protects from damage
The rigid PVC gasket also surrounds the glass edge and protects it from damage, in addition to giving a neat mess free finish, whereas the sealant on traditional bonded glass can leave an uneven surface.
On double glazed windows, there is no contact between the glass and frame, so it is thermally broken and stops condensation from forming. Customers have the choice of a sliding, hinged or hopper window mounted into the glass panel to allow any required opening.
Electrically-opening barge hatch
Houdini has also launched a remote controlled, electrically opening traditional barge hatch. Skylight hatches are often well above head height, so these heavy double-glazed hatches can now be controlled with an electric opener, allowing easy ventilation.
Houdini will be exhibiting on stand PY27.
