Barton Marine sponsors Women in Marine at SIBS
Barton Marine is to sponsor the Women in Marine reception at this year's Southampton International Boat Show powered by Borrow a Boat.
The reception will be held on 18 September at 4pm and will feature guest speakers Dawn Ramsay, UK and Eire country manager for Navico and Lottie Harland who founded and runs the sailing charity, Ausome which supports people with autism spectrum conditions.
Suzanne Blaustone, chief executive of Barton Marine, said that the show provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues. "Sharing experiences and knowledge with each other as we navigate through the current complex business environment is really valuable. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 18th,” she said.
Dawn has spent 30 years in the marine industry working with the biggest names in electronics across sales, marketing and general management. Lottie, who is autistic herself, started sailing at the age of nine and found that the sport helped build her confidence and self-esteem as she went through a difficult time at school. She set up Ausome to enable other autistic people to experience the benefits and joys of sailing.
Taking place in the new centrally located British Marine Lounge, all industry professionals are welcome. A space can be secured at the British Marine website.
