Latest Seaward cruiser makes SIBS debut
The new model in the Seaward motor cruiser range will make its world debut at Southampton International Boat Show powered by Borrow a Boat.
The Seaward Nelson 27 E20 is the latest addition to the Isle of Wight boat builder’s range. The cruiser has twin diesel inboard engines with V drive gearboxes and shaft drives, now with the Yanmar 4JH common rail 110Hp engines and twin fuel tanks of approximately 150 litres each providing a separate supply to each engine. An emergency link valve is included to enable all the fuel to be available to one engine in the event the other engine should break down.
Two 90-amp hour batteries with isolating selector switches are fitted as standard and the power circuits are protected by circuit breakers. Standard electrical equipment includes two 2-speed pantograph wipers, horn together with navigation, anchor and cockpit lights.
The cabin includes two 6ft 2in V berths with the option to convert to one large double berth. The wheelhouse is long enough to have a berth and the steering, engine controls and main instruments are all mounted on a GRP console moulding with the helm position on the port side.
Standard fittings include a heavy duty bow roller, stainless steel pulpit, three stainless steel mooring bollards, hand rails on wheelhouse and coach roof, chain pipe, two fairleads forward, mast and anchor chocks. Grab handles are also fitted and an optional pilot type inboard handrail system or an extended pulpit are available.
The Seaward 27 can be customised according to owner specification and Seaward Boats can supply and install most types of Raymarine electronic navigation aids and safety equipment.
SIBS runs from 13 – 22 September and Seaward will also be exhibiting the Seaward 39 and will have the 42 and 25 available to view locally.
