LIGNIA expands its green credentials
Alternative teak decking manufacturer LIGNIA Wood Company, has joined Water Revolution Foundation as a corporate partner.
Both organisations have similar aims and objectives to improve the eco-friendly credentials of the yachting industry.
“Our Foundation unites leading companies in the superyacht world that are signing up to our mission and are all committed to a better future for everyone,” said Robert Van Tol, Foundation executive director.
Water Revolution Foundation aims to neutralise the footprint of the yachting industry and preserve the world's oceans. It is an independent, international non-profit organisation that works to drive sustainability within the superyacht industry.
LIGNIA uses sustainably sourced wood from FSC certified plantations to create LIGNIA Yacht, an alternative to teak decking.
The product is created via a timber modification process at LIGNIA’s plant in Wales that results in a real wood product with the physical properties and appearance of popular hardwoods.
