Sunseeker unveils Project 8X
Sunseeker International has unveiled details of its new model, Project 8X.
Due to launch in 2020, the yacht is the first of the company’s next generation of larger models and will be fundamentally different from the current range.
Sean Robertson, sales director at Sunseeker International, said that the new project would dictate this sector for years to come. ”Sunseeker prides itself on producing the world’s finest luxury performance motor yachts and the design and engineering behind Project 8X epitomises our next generation of larger models,” he said.
“Whilst each new model is still quintessentially and unmistakeably a Sunseeker, this exciting new yacht will, without doubt, reinvent the market when it launches next year.”
A true superyacht
Said to ‘exemplify the feel of a true superyacht’ the Project 8X features a new ‘Beach Club’ concept which will offer four times the area of a traditional bathing platform, with stowage for a Williams 460 SportJet and JetSki.
The yacht’s cockpit seating is configurable and the foredeck has space for a 140in cinema screen and laser projector. Focusing still on entertainment, the flybridge has a wet bar, BBQ and optional hot tub.
Inside, the saloon measures 8.8m by 5.6m whilst the dining area, which seats eight, can be positioned to port or starboard. Below decks are a master stateroom, a further VIP cabin and two twin aft cabins providing accommodation for a total of eight guests. For the charter market, a fifth cabin can be added in lieu of the master stateroom.
Amenities for the crew of four or five include a kitchenette, crew mess, en suite and provision for two appliances.
