Energy Solutions offers transformer solution
Energy Solutions (UK) has introduced a resized version of its Iso-Boost shore power transformer unit that is identical in size and functionality to the Charles Industries discontinued IsoBoost.
This has given boat builders and owners a fit and form replacement for existing units and provides a solution to the product gap created when in 2016 Charles Industries announced it was ceasing production of the IsoBoost – a shore power transformer with a boost feature to compensate for variations in dockside shore-power voltage.
“If a boat needs to replace an existing Charles Industries IsoBoost our 12kVA and 24kVA USA units will slot into the space perfectly – a huge help in keeping installation and refurbishment costs as low as possible," said Paul Holland, Energy Solutions MD. "Obviously they are also a great option for new builds and we are seeing a strong demand from that area as well.”
The units provide all features of a normal isolation transformer, as well as providing a boost function to manage the volt drop on heavily loaded shore lines, or to cope with a 208V (phase to phase) supply.
Units are available in Euro and USA specifications, with both 12kVA and 24kVA models. In the 24kVA size we also offer a European version that accepts 400 volts or 230 volts input. This allows owners to connect to three phase outlets - using two of the three phases.
Energy Solutions has also signed an agreement to become the exclusive UK distributor for the WaterWorld range of electric inboard motors, which use the Simarine PICO smart battery monitors.
The monitors allow users to view the status of batteries on their smart phone or device.
Simarine's PICO range ensures precise measurement of a battery's voltage, current and temperature. Benefits include a visual status on the state and health of a battery alongside air pressure and tank level monitoring.
