The new CamBoat from Glomex is a high-definition security camera designed to help prevent boat break-ins.
If a theft should occur, the camera will provide valuable information to recover stolen property, says Oliver Cook, marketing manager of Glomex’s UK distributor Marathon Leisure.
“Every day, boat owners become victims of theft—either valuable electronics and engines or the entire vessel,” he said.
“CamBoat is simple to install and use. Owners can view the live video and audio feed at any time using the Glomex app.”
The camera requires Wi-Fi access but has no monthly fees, cloud services or subscriptions.
An integrated motion sensor records onto its built-in SD card for 24/7 surveillance using one-to-one encryption so only authorised viewers will see and hear the device.
It has an 80° field of view and night vision capability and works in a wide range of conditions, from 10°–50° C.
The product is IP65-rated for use above or below deck and measures 89mm in diameter by 84mm high. It can be fitted anywhere a 12V DC power supply will reach and has a maximum amperage draw of 230mA.
The camera can be used itself, but is also a component of Glomex's ZigBoat monitoring system, that notify owners if critical vessel events occur.
