Yacht Sentinel unveils new security camera
Boat-monitoring manufacturer, Yacht Sentinel, has launched a new camera for any boat owners looking for extra peace of mind.
The Sentinel Cam allows users to live stream to see what’s happening on board and to receive a 30-second video if the camera detects an intrusion.
“Battery and data consumptions were among the main challenges to encompass to offer to our customers an unmatched camera solution, specifically designed for boat owners." said Romain Devismes, Yacht Sentinel chief executive.
“Following the trend of smart security systems equipping more and more houses worldwide, we believe Sentinel Cam is a unique product that will soon become a critical piece of equipment for anyone wishing to monitor a boat at an affordable price.”
Fewer false alarms
Sentinel Cam is waterproof, low-power consumption (<400mA), low data consumption (<100MB per month) and sends HD 1080p videos. It is also equipped with night vision and smart detection software which reduces potential false alarms.
The camera can be powered by any type of power socket or directly wired to the boat’s battery.
It works with both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G networks, using either the global roaming sim card provided or the users own sim card. Set-up is 100% wireless and managed through the YS Hub app.
Complementing the YS6 boat monitoring system, Sentinel Cam is also suited to shipyards and charter companies. The app can handle multiple Sentinel Cams per boat and users can manage hundreds of boats under a single account.
