A new 100% electric tender offers a single onboard fuel type, no oil changes, increased reliability and reduced maintenance costs.

Zodiac Nautic Group and Torqeedo have teamed up to develop the Avon eJET concept, which features a 80hp Torqeedo Deep Blue electric motor and a 32kWh Torqeedo lithium battery.

Dominique Heber-Suffrin, president of Zodiac Nautic Group, said: “We’re always looking for what will come next in the boating industry and seek the best partners to make that happen. For our eJET Concept, Torqeedo was a clear choice from the get go.”

26-knot speed

In tests, the eJET operated for 90 minutes with normal use and could reach a maximum speed of 26 knots.

Zodiac Nautic Group and Torqeedo will further collaborate on a commercial range of eJETs that will be available for sale in 2019.
