New Technicold UK distributor
Energy Solutions has become the UK distributor for Northern Lights’ Technicold brand specialising in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Designed for long life and durability, Technicold’s Chilled Water Air Conditioning system is specifically tailored to the larger yacht market and suitable for newbuilds or refits where a bespoke system may be required.
"We have enjoyed a 20-year relationship with Northern Lights distributing their gensets, engines and spares in the UK," said Paul Holland, director of Energy Solutions. "Their development of the Technicold brand has been an exciting move forward, for them and us and we were delighted when they asked us to distribute the range in the UK.
"It is a great fit for our OEM and superyacht customers and we see some great opportunities for both new build and refit projects coming up over the next couple of years. We look forward to talking with customers about the range at METSTRADE this year and introducing them to the bespoke air conditioning and refrigeration systems Technicold can provide."
Features include a large diameter, single-pass fluted coaxial copper-nickel counterflow condenser which allows low sea water velocity while providing maximum efficiency and even condensing.
A plate style chiller encapsulated in urethane foam inside a stainless steel housing enclosure prevents condensation.
The system is also charged with environmentally responsible refrigerant, has a marine quality, corrosion resistant gloss white finish, plus 316L grade stainless steel chassis, fasteners and hardware.
Previous Technicold projects include the supply of a 30t, 360,000 BTU; a three-stage chilled water A.C. system; three-phase, 18kW immersion heat and custom circulation pump for a JM Martinac Shipbuilding long-liner fishing vessel.
Technicold has also completed projects for Nordlund Yachts; Nichols Brothers; Feadship; Delta Marine and Westport Shipyard.
