Core provides peace of mind
OLAS Core is a small, portable, wireless man overboard alarm system from Exposure Lights for boats up to 50ft long and up to 15 crew.
In the event of a man overboard incident, the system will trigger an 85-decibel emergency alert within four seconds.
Each crewmember wears an OLAS transmitter and using wireless technology, the product will create a virtual lifeline between them and the vessel by a continuous wireless signal.
The Core is a small, portable hub that can be placed anywhere on the boat.
“Losing a crew member overboard is every sailor’s worst nightmare,” said Tom Harrop, product manager at Exposure Lights.
“OLAS Core gives skippers of larger boats with a large crew, complete confidence that in the event of a MOB incident, the entire crew are alerted immediately and can take immediate recovery actions.”
The portable unit is powered by a five-volt USB supply allowing it to be transferred between vessels.
As well as the alarm, a high -power emergency red light displays a visual alert. It also connects with the OLAS mobile app, which includes screens to connect, monitor and label the connected tags.
The Core range can be increased for larger vessels up to 80ft using the OLAS Extender and it can also be set to solo mode sending an SMS message with the location and time of incident to the wearer’s emergency number.
