Production moves to the UK
Having achieved a £270,000 Crowdcube investment, TeamO has moved production of its safety products from China to the UK.
The company, run by brother and sister team Lauren and Oscar Mead, launched its BackTow lifejacket harness in 2017. Now two more products have been developed, the AutoLock tether and the Hi-Lift lifejacket.
The move to manufacture products in the UK is a ‘big move’ for the company, explained Lauren and will help the company’s quality and stock control.
“All our products are ISO certified,” she said. “We need to make sure we’re really happy with everything that goes out of the door.
“By doing it ourselves, we can keep an eye on everything.”
She added: “ISO approved materials are only available from the UK, Holland and Germany and air freighting products around the world is a no go.
“We’re taking on machinists and are fulfilling orders as fast as we can.”
The AutoLock tether works with the BackTow lifejacket harness that will tow users face-up if they fall overboard while tethered to a vessel.
The Hi-Lift lifejacket is designed to redistribute buoyancy position to raise the wearer's mouth higher out of the water.
The products are distributed by C-Quip.
