Spinlock continues development work
Spinlock has developed a top-of-the-range automatic inflating lifejacket harness - the Deckvest 6D.
The jacket introduces a new optional feature; a quick-release harness release system, which draws on development work undertaken by the company for the Volvo Ocean Race.
“In our opinion, compared to using a cutter, this is quicker, more convenient and potentially lifesaving,” says Oliver Cook, marketing manager at Spinlock's UK distributor Marathon Leisure. “This feature might not be relevant to all users, but it shows the design, innovation and attention to detail Spinlock gives to developing its pioneering jackets.”
The system is designed to ensure a simple release from a safety line even when fully loaded. A soft loop attachment point for the safety line is on the front of the life jacket and the activation handle is located immediately behind. This can be accessed by either hand has been developed to reduce the risk of an accidental snag or release.
Additional features include a choice of 170N and 275N buoyancy, a one size fits all design with easy adjustment and an enhanced shoulder fit system.
The new sprayhood design has a large clear structured visor, the jacket is MOB1 AIS compatible and it comes with a five-year warranty.
