Carry-away waste cassette

Industry Database

Lee Sanitation has produced a toilet system that consists of a domestic style toilet connected to a vacuum operated, waste disposal " cassette" holding tank.

The cassette can either be coupled directly to the toilet via a short length of plumbing, or alternatively it can be mounted up to 6m away.

Close coupled as in our picture, the lid can be closed over the cassette compartment to make a seat.

The floor-mounted tank has a capacity of about 25 litres (14 litres of waste and 11 litres of vacuum space), making it suitable for a day or two of use before it requires emptying.

Carrying a spare cassette makes sure the system is always available and that tank emptying can be done at an appropriate waste disposal station.

The system uses about 0.4 litres per flush and also features an auto-shutdown system that prevents over filling.

To change tanks requires a flick of a lever to shut and seal the system to give a carry-off unit ready for disposal.
