Bavaria enters day cruiser market
Following its recent acquisition of Greenline's NEO range of outboard sports boats, Bavaria Yachts has unveiled plans for its first day cruiser with outboard, to go into production in September at the Giebelstadt yard.
Greenline has chosen to sell the concept to better focus on hybrid propulsion and sustainability. The NEO is the only model in the company’s range currently not available as a hybrid.
"In recent years the market segment for day cruisers with outboards has grown strongly and will continue to grow in coming years," explained Michael Müller, chief executive of Bavaria Yachts.
"With our new day cruiser, we want to tap further customer groups and complete our portfolio of models. Due to the acquisition of the NEO concept and its further development, we will be able to present a new model as early as this year."
New product line
Bavaria Yachts and SVP Yachts from Slovenia agreed the takeover of all rights to the NEO concept at this year's boot Düsseldorf during which Bavaria Yachts launched a new product line with the unveiling of the BAVARIA SR41.
The development team at Bavaria Yachts will trim the new day cruiser to suit Bavaria until series production starts in September. The deck and interior are to be optimised and adapted in the Bavaria style and outboard with two 300hp are planned for the propulsion system. Bavaria will announce the new brand name in the spring.
