Boat clubs help owners generate revenue
Two new boat hire businesses have launched in the UK.
GetMyBoat is an app that boats to be hired with or without a skipper for any period of time from one hour to a few days and Flotespace is an online marketplace that enables boat owners to generate revenue from their craft.
GetMyBoat CEO Sascha Mornell says the range of boats available via the app includes houseboats, sleep aboard cruises, ferries, taxis and craft for different watersports.
Currently the company has 1,800 boats available for hire in the UK.
Flotespace operates across Sydney, the Philippines and India as well as the UK and Spain.
“We are aiming to enable passive revenue for boat owners and people who have dreamt of life on board or perhaps try before you buy to experience the incredible life on-board,” explained founder Hugh Treseder.
“Our tag line is 'Get on Board' and we have expansion plans that are gradually becoming reality.”
The company offers a revenue share to its partner marinas.
