Chris Gates steps down
Chris Gates has stepped down from his role as MD at Princess Yachts after 30 years at the helm. He will now take on the role of special advisor to the executive chairman.
Chris helped the company achieve its most successful year ever in 2018.
In a statement, executive chairman Antony Sheriff said: “Chris’s contribution to our company’s success is immeasurable and it is fitting that Chris’s last year as MD has been the most successful in our company’s history.
"We are grateful to retain Chris’s enormous experience within Princess in his new role.”
Chris’s departure from his role as MD coincides with the boatbuilder reorganising its senior team to create new operations, technical and commercial groups.
As part of this restructuring, the company has confirmed that Matt Pears has joined the executive team and board as chief operating officer, appointed to oversee the boatbuilder's manufacturing, supply chain and quality operations.
Antony Sheriff will continue to lead the company as executive chairman and CEO.
Princess will launch several new models over the coming months, including the X95 flagship X class yacht and the V55 V class sports yacht.
