The annual Marine Ad Agency (MAA) five-a-side football tournament will return to the 2016 Southampton Boat Show.

The tournament, which is now in its sixth year, will take place at Goals Soccer Centre, Millbrook and will again raise money for the Children's Intensive Care Unit (Friends of PICU) and G4 Surgery at Southampton General Hospital.

Over the years the tournament has raised more than £5000 for the good causes.

“We started the tournament six years’ ago as a way of involving many of the people that actually put the show together,” explained MAA head Mike Shepherd.

“Stand and pontoon builders, security staff, workers behind the scenes all have the opportunity to play.”

The tournament has space for 16 teams, each of eight players with entries secured on a first come first served basis, each aiming to win the MAA Cup.

The tournament will this year take place on September 20 with a briefing at 1900 and the first games kicking off as soon as possible after.

Last year The Yacht Market was the winner with players from the company returning to defend their title.

The tournament has space for 16 teams, each of eight players with entries secured on a first come first served basis, each aiming to win the MAA Cup.

Entry fee is £120 per team plus £8 per meal ticket. Contact the MAA on 023 9252 2044 for more details.
