Record 52-yacht shipment
Peters & May has completed a record-breaking shipment of 52 yachts on one vessel travelling from Antigua to Southampton.
The yachts joined one of seven sailings back to Southampton following the 2018 Caribbean season and sees Peters & May break its own record for the largest shipment of yachts, surpassing 45 yachts aboard one vessel last year.
Peters & May is the official logistics partner for Antigua Sailing Week and the ARC Rally. “Our Caribbean trade routes are going from strength to strength," explained Simon Judson, global operations director at Peters & May.
“On this sailing alone, we had seven Antigua Sailing Week participants on board. About a third of yachts on the MV Kingfisher were new clients, which is great to see.”
The biggest yacht onboard for the ten-day crossing was 25.91m in length, in contrast to smaller RIBs starting from just 5.5m.
As the Caribbean hurricane season draws in, Peters & May’s final sailing out of the Caribbean set off for Fort Lauderdale last week marking the end of a successful 2018 season.
