Solar Technology signs with Exalto
Solar Technology International has signed a deal with Dutch component manufacturer Exalto to distribute the company’s Hollex electric propulsion package.
The Hollex EP motors of 4.0kW, 7.5kW and 10.0kW directly drive a propeller shaft without the need for a transmission and complement Solar Technology’s Lifos lithium ion phosphate batteries.
“With our solar panels and Lifos batteries giving us a growing foothold in the marine market, we are delighted to add the Hollex EP to our portfolio,” said Jeremy Usher, Solar Technology sales director. “Our Lifos batteries are being used very successfully in electric boats and our partnership with Exalto will allow us to offer a complete electric propulsion package.”
The Lifos battery is available in 68Ah and 105Ah options and uses lithium battery chemistries LiFePO4 to deliver long lasting, reliable power in a lightweight package, added Jeremy.
The batteries are less than half the weight and a third of the size of an equivalent lead acid batter and can be charged and discharged six times more than the traditional option.
