Sunseeker to move 80 jobs to DHL
Around 80 jobs at Sunseeker International are set to be transferred to DHL Supply Chain.
The boatbuilder is in advanced negotiations with DHL to provide logistics services, managing all in-bound freight movements, as well as goods receiving, stores, kitting, shipyard material movements and the line-feed of production parts. DHL will also implement a programme of transformational improvements and accelerated digitalisation to support the company’s future growth plans.
Under the transformation programme, Sunseeker is proposing to transfer the staff from its warehouse and logistics functions under TUPE regulations in order to protect employees’ employment rights.
“Our supply chain is a critical function given the value and volume that we manage on a daily basis," said Michael Straughan, chief operating officer at Sunseeker. "On conclusion of the negotiations, our colleagues will be joining a leading global brand in the logistics industry and will remain key to the ongoing success of our complex supply chain. This is not only good news for Sunseeker but for the wider Poole community too.”
Earlier this year Sunseeker reported figures showing a £5.5m growth in profit as well as a focus on larger yachts with a new superyacht division and major development programme which sees the launch of the new 133 superyacht.
