Bookings increase for Kate Boats
Kate Boats has reported a 16% increase in bookings in January 2019 compared to January 2018.
The company has a fleet of 29 boats and has been providing self-drive narrowboat holidays on the Grand Union Canal in Warwickshire at Stockton and Warwick for nearly 40 years.
“Despite all the uncertainty that surrounds British businesses, it’s extremely positive to see that boating holidays are still being booked,” said Cheryl Howes, owner of Kate Boats.
“This increase comes from both domestic and overseas bookings, so perhaps with a weaker pound, staycations are on the up and more people from overseas are looking to holiday in the UK.”
Last year the company took 800 holiday bookings for trips ranging from short breaks (three or four nights) to month-long bookings.
