Castle Marinas had added Cropredy and Crick marinas to its portfolio bringing the total number of marinas in the group to 11 making it one of the largest inland marina groups in the UK.

Cropredy Marina is a ‘leisure use’ only marina in Cherwell Valley. It was built in 2012 and has easy access to the M40.

Crick Marina is situated on the Grand Union Canal, halfway between Daventry and Rugby, close to the M1 and is host to the annual Crick Boat Show.

“This is a great opportunity for us,” said Castle Marinas operations director, Mike Braidley. “Both Crick and Cropredy Marinas fit well with our group identity of being ‘big enough to cope and small enough to care’.”

Spectacular

“They are both amazing marinas - Cropredy on the South Oxford canal is spectacularly rural, with excellent cruising on the South Oxford and Crick is known by every boater in the country as the host of the annual Crick Boat Show.”

Other marinas in the group are: Buckden Marina next to the River Great Ouse, Kings Bromley Marina on the Trent and Mersey Canal, Nottingham Castle Marina on the Nottingham and Beeston Canal, Ventnor Marina on the Grand Union Canal, Wigrams Turn Marina at the Junction of the Grand Union and Oxford Canals, Birdham Pool Marina in Chichester Harbour and Royal Clarence Marina in Portsmouth Harbour.

The group offers reciprocal ‘flexi berthing’ for its annual moorers.

Both Crick and Cropredy were developed and owned by Tim Langer.
