New long-life lead carbon batteries
DBS Leoch has launched new range of lead carbon and pure lead carbon batteries with fast charging and a deep cycle life.
The batteries offer a high number of cycles to extend battery life to more than ten years (based on daily cycling), can be recharged in less than 1.5 hours and are 98% recyclable to reduce disposal costs and retain value at their end of life.
Henry James, DBS Leoch MD, explained: “Although Lithium batteries are still proving to be very popular, the new lead carbon and pure lead carbon batteries match many of their properties – a high number of cycles, fast charging and no damage from partial charging for example.”
He added the batteries have almost full recyclability, 'retaining a value of approximately one third of the new battery price at the end of its life'.
Due to the cycle life, the range is suitable for a range of customers including those interested in powering off-grid boating and solar/renewables, Henry added.
The LRC batteries have been manufactured to provide superfast charging from 0-90% state of charge level in less than 1.5 hours; a long deep cycle life - 4,000 cycles at 60% depth of discharge - high power density and energy density with small footprint; excellent partial state of charge cycle performance that avoids sulphation and a wide operating temperature range from -30 to +60°C.
The new batteries will be on show at Crick Boat Show.
