LeeSan upgrades Belfast pump out facilities
Lee Sanitation has been appointed to improve the sanitation waste arrangements at Belfast Harbour Marina.
There were concerns about the existing system which was installed almost ten years ago. Moreover, there are plans to increase the number of berths at the marina. LeeSan was tasked with specifying a more efficient system and reconfiguring the existing infrastructure.
Karl Sutcliffe of LeeSan said that attitudes towards pump out systems are changing amongst coastal marina owners. “They are now starting to regard this equipment as a necessary and revenue generating consideration,” he said.
“In the inland market the business is either with new marinas or with smaller boatyards who are replacing old Heath Robinson systems with proper, custom built LeeSan units."
As a result of the review at Belfast, the company has installed a Leestrom LS160-WTS station which features an integral transfer unit allowing for efficient waste discharge.
The system was commissioned and handed over to the marina with local pump engineering company FM Environmental appointed to provide ongoing servicing and maintenance.
