New division doubles its targeted sales
Makefast created a new division, Custom Marine Developments (CMD), last year supplying custom designed products for superyachts and luxury tenders.
The division is headed by general manager Jack Miller and design and technical manager Stuart Bowen and operates from a newly purchased 700m2 facility at Newtown Powys close to Makefast’s Welsh company headquarters.
“Wherever possible we work with UK-based suppliers to custom design and build bespoke projects,” explained Jack. “Our new facility has helped the company establish itself as the premier supplier to superyacht tender builders, as well as developing our superyacht business.
“Within the first 12 months, CMD has more than doubled our targeted sales and we’ve expanded our workforce twice to meet increasing demand working on prestigious projects in the superyacht marine industry.”
CMD supplies superyacht manufacturers with products ranging from roof solutions, sun awnings, powered bathing platforms, powered doors, sliding windows to anchor products. The company works closely with designers, management companies and boatyards to provide engineered solutions incorporating lights, fabric covers and glass welded frames to create CMD’s custom designed products.
